The 2011 Kidding Season was a great success!! We had a bumper crop of 121 colorful kids running around in the barnyard. Our birth weights were better than last year's average of 6.5lbs & we credit that to our pasture-rotation program. In Fall 2010 we incorporated a harvested soybean field that also had volunteer wheat and a kudzu gully into our rotation. Our goats loved that addition to their diet and it shows! This summer the goats have spent the last six weeks in our newest alfalfa/kudzu pastures. They ate so much kudzu they uncovered an old abandoned car.
We have sold all our doelings for this year. Stay tuned for the 2012 kids. They will start appearing in February.
